The White Asparagus Argenteuil (Asparagus officinalis) belongs to the Liliaceae family and is native to the Mediterranean basin.

This perennial plant can last over 10-12 years with proper care and yields.

The edible part consists of young, tender, and fleshy shoots known as turions, harvested before they emerge from the soil to become green asparagus.

Growing Tips:

  • Multiplication can be done vegetatively (crowns) or via seeds.
  • Use 1 kg to plant one hectare, spacing 30-45 cm between rows and 6-7 cm between seeds.
  • In extensive plantings, direct sowing can be performed.
  • After forming the plants, transplant the crowns to a spacing of 90x60 cm in the following year.

Suitable for white or green asparagus based on variety chosen.

Choose light-textured soils for optimal growth.
