Flat Leaf Parsley (Petroselium sativum) is a biennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Umbelliferae family, widely used worldwide as a seasoning.

This plant generally grows to a height of 15-20 cm and forms a rosette of finely divided, aromatic leaves.

There are two types of parsley: flat leaf and curly leaf.

General Growing Tips:

  • This hardy plant prefers medium soils, rich in organic matter, and fresh.
  • Sowing can occur year-round in temperate winter zones, but it is typically done from late winter to mid-summer.
  • Seeds germinate slowly, taking 25 to 40 days, requiring constant moisture and mild temperatures.
  • Sowing can be done by broadcasting or in rows separated by 30-40 cm at a rate of 1.5 grams per m².
  • No notable phytosanitary issues.
  • Harvesting occurs 70-80 days post-sowing, allowing multiple cuts of more developed leaves.

Flat Leaf Parsley: An upright plant with wide, dark green leaves, highly aromatic with an intense flavor.

Sowing can occur year-round; however, spring is most appropriate.
