The Lincoln pea (Pisum sativum) is an annual plant belonging to the legume family.

It is cultivated for its seeds and tender pods, depending on the variety.

This dwarf pea category encompasses low-growing varieties that do not require support and reach heights of 25 to 70 cm approximately.

It features white flowers.

This plant is easy to grow and thrives during the mild times of the year, being present in all family gardens.

General Cultivation Tips:

  • It adapts best to temperate, humid climates but cannot withstand severe frosts (below -6ºC).

The optimal growth temperature is between 14ºC and 26ºC.

    Excessive heat is detrimental.
  • Humidity, both in the soil and ambient, is crucial for growth but it does not tolerate waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root asphyxiation and plant death.
  • Prefers light or medium textured soils that are fresh yet well-drained.

Avoid planting in clay soils with excess moisture.
